UNMASKING INFLUENZA EXHIBITION
Fort la Reine Museum (Main Gallery): May 16 - August 30, 2021
For the very first time, the highly acclaimed “Unmasking Influenza” exhibition from Ingenium Canada is coming to Manitoba! The exhibit highlights the Spanish Flu epidemic of 1918-1919, and makes meaningful comparisons to contemporary aspects of public health. The exhibition features information panels, artefacts. digital video, and interactive activities to showcase the innovations and tribulations of Canadians as they lived through the most perilous virus of the last century. Some exhibition content may be sensitive for some, due to the nature of the current Covid-19 pandemic, therefore visitor discretion is advised. For those that wish to visit the Museum without viewing this exhibit, we have created a curtain barrier with an alternative route to access the Museum grounds without going through the exhibit area.
This exhibition is sponsored by Canadian Heritage, through the Museums Assistance Program.
