The St. John Ambulance (SJA) allows volunteers and their dogs to visit hospitals, seniors' residences, nursing homes, school. Through petting, affection and consistent visitation, many people benefit both physically and emotionally from unconditional love of a dog.
If you are interested in finding out more about this program and potentially become a Therapy Dog team you are required to attend an Orientation meeting. This is a meeting where a brief overview of the program and the requirements are explained with no commitment expected at that time. Dogs are not to attend this meeting.
