Malayali Association of Portage la Prairie Presents Onam 2025
The Malayali Association of Portage la Prairie (MAP) invites the community to join us for Onam 2025, a vibrant cultural celebration from Kerala, India, taking place on Monday, August 25, 2025, at the William Glesby Centre in Portage la Prairie.
Onam is Kerala’s biggest festival, marked by traditional music, dance, games, and the world-famous Onam Sadya—a lavish vegetarian feast served on banana leaves, featuring a variety of authentic Kerala dishes.
The celebration will include:
Formal opening ceremony with special guests and dignitaries
Thiruvathira dance and other traditional cultural performances
Indoor activities and family-friendly games
Outdoor competitions including the exciting tug-of-war (Vadam Vali)
The grand Onam Sadya Lunch from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm
