ABOUT THE ARTIST:

BURNSTICK (Manitoba)

Burnstick is a JUNO-nominated Indigenous folk duo from Manitoba, made up of husband and wife Nadia and Jason Burnstick. Known for their haunting vocal harmonies and Jason’s masterful lap slide Weissenborn guitar, they create cinematic, emotionally stirring music that resonates deeply with audiences. Their 2019 debut Kîyânaw received national acclaim, and their 2024 follow-up Made of Sin continues their tradition of powerful, thought-provoking storytelling. Blending personal and cultural narratives with rich instrumentation, Burnstick’s performances are both intimate and expansive. With engaging songs and heartfelt connection, they inspire listeners to reflect on identity, memory, and shared human experience.
