Rene Marriott - Bio
René Marriott is a young Indigenous artist born in Winnipeg, MB. He often works in acrylic and aerosol paint, but also likes to experiment with all mediums to develop his versatility as an artist. He has participated in several large-scale art events, including Maple Wish Explore 150 at the Winnipeg Art Gallery, mural painting at the MARCC Pop Up at the Winnipeg Fringe Festival, and has exhibited in Peace Should Not Be This Fragile, at Graffiti Gallery. Along with these large scale projects, he has done live painting throughout the city including at the Winnipeg Comedy Festival 2018, the MICEC 31st Annual Indigenous Minor Hockey Tournament 2018, and Aboriginal Day Celebrations at City Hall in 2016 and 2017. René's artwork represents who he is and who he aspires to be. In addition to his visual arts practice, René also creates music as a means of self-expression.
