Hello everyone!
In these difficult times, we know that families will be hit financially and be needing help to feed their loved ones. We also know that some animals will be surrendered because families may not be able to afford to feed/upkeep them during these times.
There is a new Lions Club in town, the Portage Voyageurs Club Branch, and we want to help. Joining forces with the Portage la Prairie Lions Club (their parent/sponsoring club) we will be collecting food donations for humans and pets. We will be at the Lions Den on Sunday, March 29th, 2020, from 1 pm to 3 pm.
We understand that we need to be responsible with social distancing and making sure that everyone is safe, while doing our part in helping the community. So, when people come to drop off items, we will have a table set up for items to be left on. Once you leave the table area, we will then collect the items and take them into the den.
We would like to collect food for the Salvation Army food bank, here in Portage la Prairie, and dog/cat food for PAWS (Portage Animal Welfare Society) with a focus on dog food. But really, all help is greatly appreciated.
